Ogham Stones
Ogham was the very earliest form of Irish writing 3rd century AD. Ogham is groups of straight and slanted lines written on the edge of a rock, generally a headstone or a memorial naming a person and their ancestors. The Dunloe Ogham Stones can be found in Beaufort Village approximately 3km from Fossa. The stones here were originally part of the roof of a souterrain (underground passage) which caved in at the end of the 19th century.

Aghadoe
Approx 2½km. Aghadoe, I think, boasts the most amazing panorama in the Kingdom. The church here is said to have been founded in the 7th century (observe the Ogham Stone within the burial ground). The view from here is absolutely stunning and I would highly recommend you taking time out to see this view.
